pdf_20220923_181405_0000

Contoh Dialog Yang Menggunakan Interrupting expressions on a debate or discussion

Ratna    : I’m tired of studying until the afternoon. My body went limp.

Ranto     : Me too. However, as students we must follow a predetermined schedule.

Yani       : I agree with you Ranto. It is our duty to study hard at school. That way we can be ready to live in the community with all the skills and knowledge we get from school.

Ratna    : Regarding the final goal, I agree with you, Yani. But what I mean here is the class schedule is too much so we always go home in the afternoon. Meanwhile we came to school early in the morning. I feel unable. My body is tired.

Yani       : Yes, what can I do? I believe the school has considered everything before determining the schedule, Ratna.

Ranto     : I understand what you mean Ratna. I also agree with you Yani. But what Ratna meant was actually very clear. She wants a solution where we don’t have to come to school at 06.30 and finish the last lesson at 3.30 every day. I myself was exhausted so I couldn’t do much at home.

Ratna    : Yes, that’s what I meant from the start. I would like at least a reduction in class hours for subjects that are not so important to me. Or, at least the school provides a choice of subjects that can be taken and are not in accordance with the interests and talents of students. That’s way students can also focus and optimize their learning without having to spend a lot of time at school.

Yani       : hold on a second. Back to what I was saying before, as students, our job is to study well. Well, because we have decided to study at school, we must comply with all school rules including class hours which make us obliged to come in the morning and leave in the afternoon. I think that’s the main problem.

Ratna    : pardon, me. I’m not sure I understand what your point here is. But, in my opinion it will be better and useful for students like me who don’t like to sit in class all day to choose a subject that I like more and I believe I can be successful in that lesson. At least to achieve my dream as an accountant, I don’t have to bother taking physics, chemistry, and biology subjects.

Notice the underlined expression in the dialogue above. All of these expressions are expressions that are commonly used to interrupt opinions.

All the expressions asking for interruption above can be applied in debate.

My English teacher

There are so many people who contributed to our progress. Unfortunately, we may forget who they are. Since we first came to school until today, we cannot mention their names one by one completely with all the detailed information about them. Including how they have contributed to us so that we can become who we are today.

I still remember there was a very good teacher who taught me when I was in senior high school.

He was the most down-to-earth male teacher I had ever met at school. He is very patient, kind, and resolute. He never gets angry with his students even though they are so naughty and irresponsible. He never punished them harshly like the other teachers. He only advised them not to repeat it in the future.

His pair of eyes had a shady, fatherly look. His eyes are pitch black. His nose is so pointy. His face is slightly round. He is about 170cm tall and weighs about 75kg.

He really likes white. I’ve never seen him wear a shirt in a colour other than white. He once told me, white symbolizes cleanliness. People who like to wear white clothes will always try to keep themselves and their clothes clean because if they are dirty, the dirt will be very clearly visible on the clothes they wear.

He always brought a pile of books when he entered my class. His leather shoes were black and barely made a sound as he walked around the classroom checking the students’ work.

He loves to tell stories. There’s just something to tell. Sometimes he told how he almost arrived late because the car he was in had a flat tire. Sometimes he also told me about the literary books he had just finished reading. He always spoke in English. We listened carefully because every time he finished his story he would ask us about the contents of the story.

Fox, Beautiful Animal in Many Asian Movies

Somehow the fox has long been the most interesting theme in Asian films. Foxes in many Asian movies are described as adorable, and very cute animals.

Foxes generally have soft fur with a distinctive color. There are foxes that are red, and white.

At first glance we can guess that the fox is actually an animal that belongs to the same family as dogs and wolves. It has fangs and can run fast like dogs and wolves. In terms of body size, foxes are smaller than dogs and wolves.

Foxes are the easiest animals to find on any continent. It can live in rainforests, mountains, meadows, and deserts.

Foxes live in a house that is underground. They like a house that is on the ground because it can protect them from the hot sun and cold mountain air. In addition to living in the ground, foxes also make nests made of leaves.

This leaf nest is used for female foxes who want to give birth and take care of fox babies.

Fox’s diet depends on its natural conditions. In the mountains foxes can eat a variety of fruits, insects, and small animals such as mice. In the desert the fox will eat the lizards and birds that easy to find. Fish and crabs are food for the foxes that live by the shore.

So even though the body shape is the same, it turns out that foxes have differences too especially at foods.

Contoh dialog Asking for and Giving opinion serta pertanyaannya

Read the following dialog and answer the questions!

Jonathan : Have you heard that the price of fuel oil was raised by the government yesterday afternoon?

Nita           : Yes, I’ve heard it and regret it happened.

Jonathan  : Why?

Nita           : I feel sorry for the little people. They experienced a tremendous impact from the increase in the price of fuel oil.

Jonathan : I agree with you but I think the government must have considered it before deciding on that.

Nita           : Even so it shouldn’t have happened. I totally disagree with the government’s decision.

Jonathan  : Can you explain why you don’t agree?

Nita           : Let’s think about it carefully. When the price of fuel oil rises, transportation costs also increase. Then all the basic needs of daily life will also go up. This will make it more difficult for people to get food at cheap prices.

Jonathan  : You’re right. But doesn’t the government provide direct assistance subsidies to small people so that they can be helped in obtaining their daily needs?

Nita           : In my view, the government’s decision to provide direct subsidies to the poor is an inappropriate action. I think there will be a lot of people who claim to be incapable or poor in order to get the subsidized assistance. If that does not happen then people who previously received similar assistance in the past will still get it for free. It is not impossible that the data regarding the recipients of the subsidized assistance does not change from year to year.

Jonathan  : So what do you mean?

Nita           : I mean the aid only benefits a few groups of people and harms the majority of the people of this country.

Jonathan  : So what’s your solution?

Nita           : I prefer if the price of fuel oil remains the same as before and the money that is planned to be allocated for the direct aid subsidy is not used but diverted to suppress existing inflation. That way everyone can still enjoy the price of basic daily necessities at a low price.

Jonathan: I see what you mean. Hopefully the government will notice it soon.
